Berrien High School Berrien High School Completes Service Project

November 30, 2017

Students from Berrien High FCCLA Chapter catered and served breakfast for a local Women's Conference at the First Baptist Church. In return, the women attending the conference agreed to help with our Leadership Service in Action project of providing food boxes for our food pantry, The Caring Place. In Berrien County we have a number of families that live at or below the poverty line. Our goal is to provide 75 boxes of food for these families. A box will typically feed a family of 4 for a week.

Our chapter has several activities planned to provide the funding and canned goods for the boxes. We are sponsoring a recipe contest where all proceeds will benefit the Caring Place. We are sponsoring a food drive at our school and we are working together with Anytime Fitness to host a fun run where all proceeds will purchase food boxes. A box of food costs approximately $25. We hope that through these combined efforts we will make holidays easier for families in our community.
