North Cobb High School North Cobb and Atlanta Habitat for Humanity
The North Cobb High School FCCLA recently traveled to the Atlanta Habitat for Humanity Headquarters and taught a HomeSmart class for homeowners and their children. The hour and a half long class focused on the benefits of dining at home from a financial and nutritional aspect as well as the positive effects it has on the family unit. The class started with conversation about these benefits, transitioned to culinary terminology and we finished by cooking a "one pot wonder" meal easy for children to prepare or for a fast week night meal. FCCLA students were able to assist the groups preparing their meals as well as it opened up a line of communication between them and the Habitat for Humanity homeowners and their children. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the class, and definitely enjoyed their prepared meal!
