Oglethorpe County Middle School OCMS Has Busy Fall Semester

February 01, 2018

The Oglethorpe County Middle School FCCLA has been busy the last few months with several community service efforts. In November, members packed treat buckets to deliver to the local police, fire, and EMT headquarters. The buckets were delivered during the week of Thanksgiving to appreciate the people who were on duty to help make our time “off duty” more safe. In December, the Oglethorpe County Middle School FCCLA wrote letters to troops to express their thanks for service and hope of a safe tour of duty. The Oglethorpe County FCCLA also partnered with other clubs and local organizations to ensure that every kid in the county could have Christmas. Oglethorpe County Community Christmas is a program that provides gifts to families in the local community who may be struggling financially. The OCMS FCCLA held a sucker sale and raised $100 to donate to the program to purchase gifts on the Christmas lists of these families. The FCCLA also hosted a toy drive and collected over 200 toys to donate to the program as well.
