Peachtree Ridge High School Peachtree Ridge Off to a Great Start

November 14, 2017

October was a super busy month for us, but it was also very rewarding! In the beginning officers sold chocolates and we sold 14 boxes with 60 bars in each case. The week after that, PRHS FCCLA attended the Fall Rally in Perry, GA. It was a great experience because we all got closer to our members and became one big group of friends. We had fun riding all the rollercoasters and eating unhealthy fair food! Another thing that we enjoyed there, was the key note speaker because he brought happiness and excitement to the whole room. Our next big event was the Fall Leadership Conference, a group of 12-14 attended for the overnight stay. The first night was outstanding because we met other FCCLA chapters, had a dance party, and then karaoke. The day after, everyone went to different workshops to learn about skills needed for the future. For example, there was public speaking, sex trafficking in GA, and scholarship opportunities. This conference taught us to be aware of what is happening in our community and how we behave in certain situations. When we got back from the conference, there was a sense of closeness everyone had with one another. The next week after, our school held Trunk or Treat. We had a huge turnout full of families and friends. Our trunk theme was superheroes and our activity was to hit a bat or sign off the ceiling in the car. We saw children lining up to play our game and receive candy! Lastly, on Halloween day, our Simply Sheets Sale had ended and the chapter sold a whopping 2,000! This is so magnificent because we sold enough to supplement our trip to the State Conference. October was such a fun-filled time and we will share more for the upcoming months.
