Tucker Middle School TMS Attends National Conferences

February 02, 2018

Tucker Middle School (TMS) FCCLA has been the only DeKalb County middle school FCCLA Chapter to advance to National STAR competitions within the last six years, travelling to Orlando, Florida; San Antonio, Texas; Washington, D.C., San Diego, California; Nashville, TN. TMS FCCLA has had the largest number of competitors of all DeKalb County FCCLA organizations (high school and middle combined) to compete in National STAR competitions in the last six years as well. We work hard to give our students these opportunities because they are life-changing and life-enhancing experiences. We spend countless hours with them, pouring into them and them pouring back into us with their creativity and zeal to win! Many TMS FCCLA members become best friends and remain as such far beyond their middle school years. Two State Executive Council members were birth out of our chapter, Sumitra and Subhadra Dhakal.

We are excited to have co-sponsors like Mrs. Chelsea Miller, Co-Worker, who spends countless hours of her own time, Ms. LaTasha Rankine who has worked with the adviser for the last eight year; Ms. Sofonda Wells and Mrs. Gayle Miller Brown who also work diligently with the Adviser to ensure the success of these wonderful students. The principal, Dr. Kathy Cunningham, past recipient of GA FCCLA Administrator of the Year Award; faculty, staff, students and parents all play a huge role in our success. Thank you to every single person and for every single act in helping TMS FCCLA. We love you!
