Mountain View High School 9 Gwinnett County Schools FCCLA Officers take Oath Office at Ceremony
Mountain View High School hosted the Gwinnett County Officer Induction Ceremony on Tuesday, September 24, 2019. Nine Gwinnett County High Schools were included in the ceremony including: Archer High School, Berkmar High School, Collins Hill High School, Dacula High School, Grayson High School, Lanier High School, Millcreek High School, Mountain View High School, and Peachtree Ridge High School. The ceremony included the FCCLA Candle lighting Ceremony and focused on the Eight Purposes of the organization. Each President took on a speaking role in the ceremony and light the candles as they explained what each candle represents. The members took the stage with their advisers to receive the schools recognition for their commitment to leadership in their schools FCCLA chapter. Pins, certificates and roses were given to the officers from their local chapter. The officers took the oath of office followed by their chapter president taking the oath of president.
The ceremony concluded with every officer meeting on the floor and passing the light of the organization to each officer’s candle. The group then recited the FCCLA Creed by candlelight. McKenna Robbins, Mountain View President and Emily Emmons, State Vice President of Programs hosted the event. Special guests included Zubaida Adres State Vice President of Competitive Events and her Adviser Caitlin Mitchell from North Oconee County High School and Elizabeth Clinton Region 3 Officer. Elizabeth’s adviser is Ashley Carter from Loganville High School. Mountain View Principal Keith Chaney was in attendance and welcomed all of the officers and their parents and offered words of encouragement for their choice to lead in their local chapters.
