January 29, 2020

On December 11, Madison County High FCCLA invited Matt Penrow, FCCLA Georgia State President to speak at their monthly meeting. At the beginning of the meeting, members packed Christmas gifts for students at Madison County High School that were identified as homeless. All the gifts in the bag were donated by students, teachers, staff, and Madison County High School clubs. Madison County High FCCLA was able to collect and pack bags for 16 girls and 14 boys. After the bags were packed, Matt Penrow shared a public speaking activity with the FCCLA members at the meeting. He had volunteers to stand and speak in front of the group about different fun scenarios. He told the group that even though public speaking can be scary, it is easy to overcome it with steps. At the end of the meeting, the Madison County FCCLA officers delivered the Christmas bags to the Guidance Office. At the end of the day, Madison County High FCCLA officers celebrated the Christmas season by going to a restaurant and swapping gifts.
