Farm to School Student Chef Competition March 14, 2018
The Georgia Department of Education School Nutrition Program will be holding our 2nd annual Shake it Up – Farm to School Student Chef Competition in 2018. The student chef competition provides an opportunity for students to connect with school nutrition to learn about our programs and develop recipes that meet USDA requirements.
Teams will compete to develop a nutritious, student-friendly recipe that includes local foods and is easily incorporated into the school food service program. The competition consists of a Recipe Contest and a Cooking Competition.
The Student Chef Competition is open to student teams in grades 9-12 throughout the state. To learn more about the Student Chef Competition or see information and photos from the 2017 event, please visit our Student Chef Competition website.
The date for the 2018 competition is Wednesday March 14th, 2018, please save the date. The location is still to be determined and will be posted on the website as soon as possible. The application and criteria will be released in mid-July.
